I know things may seem very overwhelming right now. Your father has been sick in the hospital for a few weeks now and tomorrow will be the hardest day of your life. Even though this day will change the person you are and echo throughout your life forever, I know want you to know in the coming months your family will be there for you and you will be strong. Don’t worry about the time it takes to grieve, take as much as you need; even though it seems like the process never ends. Take comfort in your friends and use dance as a tool to work your way through this dark time. Dance will become the safe place you can go to, when nothing else makes sense.

As you get older you will realize that you inherited your sense of humour from your father and you will remember his carefree attitude as a reminder that sometimes you could lighten up a little as well. You will carry your father in your heart and you will take him with you in all your travels and to all the amazing places in the world that you will visit. You will take care of your mother, though she doesn’t really need you to, she has shown you what it means to be a strong woman and you two will have a stronger, deeper relationship with her because of this experience. You will think of him everyday and you and your family will carry on his memory at every family gathering; remembering the good times.

Your father always believed life is what you make it … And Kendra… you WILL make life what you want it to be

Back to School

It`s back to school for a lot people and most importantly dancers!!

I am teaching another year, but the added challenge is that I am teaching preschoolers. I am taking this new endeavor very seriously and I want to do it right. I want my classes to be fun and educational for all ages.

So I start with the research hunt. I turn to resources that I have acquired through workshops that I have taken, I use the internet and search the library.

Here are some styles that I was able to find on the internet that interest me:

I love this dress. There was a blog contest on weddingbells.ca and there was a bride from Toronto that wore this dress. I love the top of it. I think the lace is just beautiful.

I HAVE to try on at least one Essence of Australia dress. They caught my eye awhile ago and I thought they had such a pretty collection.

This dress to me is just beyond glamorous, but I love it. This dress will not be at the Burlington store, but I did call a store in Toronto, they told me the dress is making its way over and to call back in a couple of months. I have to try it on!! The whole Demetrios Blue collection is amazing!!

I am told by past brides though, it is usually the first dress you try on. (And anyone who watches Say Yes To The Dress knows this fact as well. You`ll have to could back and visit to find out what happens today!

Neither Adam or I had any answers to these questions. The first decision that you are faced with when planning a wedding for us was~ where do we see our wedding? I knew immediately that I wanted to be married in the summertime and outside.

I started my search online (where else?) and was looking at the usual suspects. There was the Grand Olympia, Geraldo’s at Lasalle Park and Liuna Gardens. Then I found it the location! I had been there many times as an actor in a murder mystery. It’s beautiful, the food is delicious and I always thought it would be the perfect place to get married.

The scenery is breath-taking and the area where they hold the outdoor ceremony is what really sold us on this location.

A little piece of heaven

We went a couple of weekends ago with my mom to meet with the event planner and they showed us around to where we would have the ceremony and which room would we get for the reception. It is all accessible and it was set up for a wedding that day, so we really got to see what it would be like to have our wedding there! We just loved it. So last weekend we booked it! So the date is set: Saturday, August 18, 2012!!

Beautiful Scenery

So I just got engaged this month!!

Wow!

It is a beautiful ring – Adam did a fantastic job picking a ring that was my style and that represented our love. Now of course the big question is when is the date. I still have another year of school and I want to get married in the summer time, so it is looking like it will be in the summer of 2012. I have been calling around to some reception halls, etc to get some quotes and I am not really getting far with them. I guess it is like anything else, it just takes time to plan a wedding

I am just so impatient. I am also unsure if I am going to set up another page for our wedding blog (lots of websites give them out for free – potentially I could already have two wedding pages lol). I already take care of two web pages and countless other things on the web and I just don’t want to start a new one… though I wonder if it will be easier to see where we are registered and so on. I guess we will see!!

I am so excited and I will post more here as I make decisions and give you sneak peek on things to come!
